The Lyric Hyperion Presents:
THE EDINBURGH FRINGE PREVIEW DAY!
Come join us as we host 5 shows that are headed off to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland this August! This is very exciting for them and also very expensive (The haggis budgets alone are thru the roof!) That's why the proceeds from this day are going to the artists. So be sure to bring some cash so you can throw some money in the bucket!
All shows are pay what you can and you will only be able to purchase tickets at the door (cash or Venmo) So we suggest coming early to get your tickets and hang out on the patio. Grab some food (No haggis, too expensive) and drinks!
12pm: Business Casual
2pm: Princess Party
6pm: Okay Get Home Safe!!
8pm: Boss Whom Is Girl
And at 10pm, come watch a group of performers take some big risks and perform work for the very first time in the show Raw Meat! Hosted by Kevin Kreiger
More info about the shows below!
~~~~~~12pm: Business Casual~~~~~~
Winner: Stamptown Newcomer Award, 2019.
Fresh off the grill, Oscar-winning comedy group Business Casual brings their debut show to the Edinburgh Fringe after a sold-out run on Broadway, the West End and the Mumbai Fringe LLC, these boys are coming in hot, so hot, oh my god it's so hot. Cory Peter Lane, fresh out of the oven is the lead man – the big strong redhead boy or whatever. The other two guys are called Hunter and Jeremy. Hunter Saling and Jeremy Elder. And also, Cory.
~~~~~~2pm: Princess Party~~~~~~
Lauren Howard Hayes and Hannah Pilkes bring you a show about two best friends who get paid to impersonate popular princesses for wealthy party-planning mums. When veteran princess Sloane takes rookie Ansley under her wing, it's all a piece of cake... until their naughty habits and party animal ways quickly take over. You'll meet the royal wrecks themselves along with a crazy cast of comedic characters. So make a wish! You are cordially invited to this raucous romp of a birthday party!
Developed with Dr Brown and from the producers of the smash-hit award-winning shows Nate and Laid. Courtney Pauroso presents a character clown show (definitely), burlesque show (eventually) and feminist allegory (sure, probably) all rolled into one surreal and stupid and heart-warming and thought-provoking and blindingly beautiful yet deceptively dark – and honestly, 100% perfect – hour of ground-breaking comedy. A female. A journey. Twists and turns. Time and space. Laughter, tears, blood, bullshit. Etc. You get it. Any questions?
~~~~~~6pm: Okay Get Home Safe!!~~~~~~
Anna Drezen is a Saturday Night Live writer and former editor-at-large of online satirical women's magazine Reductress. She's heading to the Edinburgh Festival later this summer with a show all about true crime, the dark side of reality TV, and very powerful ghosts.
'Like Tina Fey before her, Anna Drezen is setting the tone for [SNL]' (PasteMagazine.com)
50 Funniest People in Brooklyn (Brooklyn Magazine)
~~~~~~8pm: Boss Whom Is Girl~~~~~~
Learn how to empower yourself by participating in capitalism in this fabulous keynote speech from Silicon Valley girlboss and founder of Pee-Pee Smarthomes, Shell Gasoline-Sandwich, as played by LA comedian Jamie Loftus. Come to laugh, cry and get red-pilled as your fave 'yas corporations' appropriate messages you believe in while secreting waging wars in Third World countries. Yas!
'The top of our wish list' (Paste Magazine).
'Much like Andy Kauffman or Maria Bamford, Loftus's comedy is strange but impossible to look away from' (Forbes).
