A dark (oh take it easy) musical comedy based on the life and projections of Fiona Landers. This show has it all, including material about rape and cancer. But no strobe light, so still pretty chill.
Written and Performed by Fiona Landers Choreographed and Directed by Murphy Cross, who won a Tony for directing (!)
Music and Lyrics by Fiona Landers Musical Arrangements and Direction by Greg Smith, who is GREAT
********Fiona Landers is a writer, actor, and singer who is best known for playing the role of Sophia in a pivotal Valentine's Day episode of Full House (not Fuller House). Other acting credits include Brie Larson's directorial debut, Unicorn Store, The UCB Show, The Hotwives of Las Vegas, Burn Notice - where she played a tiny Russian bodyguard - and comedy videos featured on Adult Swim, Collegehumor, and Funny or Die. She has performed her original music all over NYC and LA at venues like Highline Ballroom, Rockwood Music Hall, Bowery Ballroom, Hotel Cafe and the Bootleg Theater. She even played CBGB and The Bitter End by the time they were very corporate and not cool. Fiona has contributed satire, essays, and interviews to Bust Magazine, Reductress, Dame Magazine, The Hairpin, Ravishly, Eater LA, and Medium’s homepage. She has written and performed in thousands of musical and sketch comedy shows at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in Los Angeles and is a proud alum of UCB house teams, Old Flame, Judith, Quick & Funny Musicals and Oh, Brother!. Her one woman show, Paradise Valley, directed by Eva Anderson, was great. Her theatre training includes Circle in the Square Theatre School and The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, thank you very much. Fiona recently co-wrote and co-starred in Voldemort and The Teenage Hogwarts Musical Parody which had a nearly sold-out run at the 2018 Edinburgh Festival Fringe and will make its triumphant return for the 2019 Edinburgh Festival Fringe and a limited run in London. She was named one of the funniest women on Twitter for exactly one day.
******** Succinct quotes about Fiona’s work from some of her writing/comedy faves: “Funny” - Paul Feig (Freaks and Geeks and so many movies) “Brilliant” - Cheryl Strayed (Wild, Tiny Beautiful Things) “Genius” - John Hodgman (Vacationland, The Daily Show)
