Holly Burn - The Best of the Burn

Fast-rising fearless British comedy star HOLLY BURN is touching down in LA with her new Greatest Hits show: BEST OF THE BURN, fresh from filming the special for The Next Up Channel (Amazon Prime / Apple TV)

Tickets ($8): https://www.eventbrite.com/e/holly-burn-the-best-of-the-burn-tickets-51047830435

Holly is the star of ITV’s hit comedy show Bad Bridesmaid and is famous for portraying Victoria Beckham in a corner shop - an internet sketch that parodied Vogue’s “73 Questions For Victoria Beckham’’ which went viral, rocking the Daily Mail sidebar and even getting an endorsement from Queen V herself!

"The most hilarious Victoria Beckham parody you'll ever see" - Refinery 29

In a wild evening of original silliness and uninhibited stupidity Holly shows off her best bits from her seven critically acclaimed hit solo shows. Holly and her bold characters and interactive stand up come together to make up a show the like of which you'll have never seen before or ever dream of seeing again!

As seen on BBC, C4, ITV, SKY.

“Comedy supremo... turns stand up on its head” ★★★★ (To Do List)
“Powerhouse...Burn is so adorable that both the men and the women in the audience fall in love with her. A natural with physical comedy... and her writing reveals some absolute gems.” ★★★★ (Chortle)

(James Acaster’s Top Edinburgh Picks – The Guardian)

Jake Kroeger Dates the Audience

Jake Kroeger is 31 years old and has never had a significant other. He also loathes the idea of dating apps and has also found the idea of a "meet cute" to be something that doesn't happen in real life like it does in the movies/TV. Rather than take anyone's advice that anyone has given him his whole life, he's going to do something else.

He's going to go on a date with an entire live audience.

Tickets ($8): https://www.eventbrite.com/e/jake-kroeger-dates-the-audience-tickets-52694554832

To be clear, if you come to this interactive/experimental show, you will indeed be on a date with Jake (though he's open to it being a friend date if you're not looking for anything romantic).
Come to the gorgeous Lyric Hyperion Theatre & Cafe, an already great place for a date, on Thursday, November 29th at 10PM to fall in love/make a friend/give Jake some much needed validation of any kind.

Trump. Your wrong. Brexit. Your wrong. Facebook. Your wrong. Tinder. Your wrong.Religion. Your wrong. Fashion. Your wrong. Grammar. YOUR WRONG.

At 19 years of age my big brother Andrew had a severe car accident that left him in a coma for 5 weeks. This is the story of the faith, the family, the pain, the love, and the reality of the limits in medical science for the Nichol family.

We are being watched. Whether it’s the grammar nazi’s on the internet, the court of public opinion in the media, the government through our smart phones, the aliens from deep in the crust of the moons of Jupiter, or by God himself, we are being monitored. The pressure to ‘get it right’ is tremendous! RIGHT?

This show questions the nature of understanding and explores our modern day need to be 100% right about everything even it means regurgitating misinformation, believing the unbelievable or just plain lying.

I’ve have made some big mistakes and so have you. Not coming to this show would be another one for both of us.

The show was the 2nd best rated show of the Edinburgh Fringe 2017.

Here’s what the critics said-

“…a show that makes you laugh and think while you are watching, and then wakes you up in the night to laugh and think again.” ***** The Scotsman

See What Sticks is a free, monthly workshop in Los Angeles where artists of all disciplines can present work at any stage in a blackbox theater. We offer the stakes of a deadline, the legitimacy of an audience, and the collaborative freedom of a workshop environment. This year, we launched our Creative Lab initiative, where we produce full-length projects that originated at our workshops. See What Sticks was founded in 2015 by Madeline Hendricks and Ilana Peña. Hippodrome: A Wet the Hippo Open Company Jam

What would happen if everybody came? Some cross between a a rehearsal, a class, and an ice cream social. Hang out with us. See what we do. Maybe do it too.

FREE!

FB: https://www.facebook.com/events/694912364198442/

A little more info: The Hippodrome is an open company jam led by John Gilkey. We invite everyone from all the performing Hippo ensembles as well as students to come and perform. We’re never quite sure who will get up, but we look to mix people who might not have worked with each other before, try new things, and show what we’re up to. We want to challenge what we do and see all the styles this thing can take.

Cheers The Show: The Show

Cheers The Show: The Show

Cheers is the best sitcom of all time. That’s why Brian McGovern created Cheers The Show: The Show.

Tickets ($8): https://www.eventbrite.com/e/cheers-the-show-the-show-tickets-51320213139

CTS:TS is a bunch of new Cheers scenes written and performed by a bunch of funny people. Each one serving as the first scene of an imagined episode, these cold opens will be performed one after another after another. It’s a weird Groundhog Day nightmare that is also FUNNY!!!

The original cold opens vary between heartfelt homages and obscene satire. They are filled with talking mops, deadly viruses, and pretentious literary references. The only rules given to writers were that the scenes must include the characters of Cheers and take place in the bar.

It’s a celebration of one of the most classic of classic sitcoms while also being a total dismantling of the format itself. And did we mention it’s FUNNY!?!?!

Featuring:

Dan Torson as Sam Malone

Katy Fullan as Diane Chambers

John O’Toole as Norm

Genetra Tull as Cliff

Lauren Knutti as Carla

Elizabeth Schantz as Coach

Jackie Durruthy as Dr. Frasier Crane

Lee Barats as Woody

with: Ryan Coil, Caitlin Linden, and Danielle Byas

With Original Scenes written by:

Charlie McCrackin

Sarah Hatheway

George McAuliffe

Camille Campbell

Lily Sullivan

Kyle Chorpening

Mandi Bossard

Cooper Sukaly

AND MORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Created and Directed by Brian Rodriguez-McGovern
